Your account, profile and identity

In this article

One account, two modes

One account can both buy and sell. Switch with the Buying / Selling switch at the top of the website (its tooltip reads "Mode: Buying or Selling"), or from Profile in the app. New accounts start in Buying mode. Press "Start selling" to begin. Anyone aged 18 or older can sell.

Seller setup (four short steps)

  1. "Seller rules": read and tick the box, then "I agree, continue".
  2. "Personal information": legal name, display name, a short bio, governorate, languages you speak. Press "Save and continue".
  3. "Professional information": your professional title, skills, experience level, portfolio, and optionally education and certifications.
  4. "You're ready to sell": finish and go to your dashboard.

You may skip a step, but the page warns that skipping "reduces buyer trust". A complete profile also helps your service rank.

Legal name and public name

Kaasb separates the name on your ID from the name buyers see:

  • Legal name ("Legal first name", "Legal last name"): your real name as on your ID and payout card. It is private. It is used for payouts, contracts and verification, and never shown in full to the public. Staff compare it with the name on your payout account before every transfer.
  • Your legal name locks after your first earnings. After that, only support can correct it: send a request with a photo of your ID. Enter it correctly now.
  • Display name (public): optional. A nickname or your business name (for example "Baghdad Studio"). It must not impersonate anyone, and words like "Expert", "Certified" or "Support" are refused.
  • By default others see you as "First name + first letter of your last name" (for example "Salim S."). Turn on "Show my full last name" if you want your full name public.
  • On contracts and on your order details, buyer and seller see each other's legal names. Chat headers and order cards keep the short form.
  • Your username is public and cannot be changed later, so do not put your phone number or email in it.

Identity and trust

  • Kaasb verifies your email (needed to withdraw) and the phone number linked to your account. Kaasb does not currently check government ID documents, so buyers judge you by your profile, reviews and replies. Make yours strong.
  • Turn on two-factor authentication in Settings, Security, and review your active sessions there.
  • Your profile photo must not carry a phone number or other contact details. Reviewers send those back.
  • Add portfolio pieces: real examples of your work are the best proof you can show.
