Delete your Kaasb account

The fastest way is to delete your account yourself while logged in:

1. Open Kaasb at kaasb.com/auth/login and sign in.
2. Navigate to Dashboard → Settings (/dashboard/settings).
3. Scroll to the "Delete Account" section at the bottom of the page.
4. Confirm with your password (if your account uses one) or via a 6-digit code sent to your email.
5. Deletion is processed immediately. You will be signed out and your account will be irrecoverable.

Before you can delete: all active contracts and pending orders must be completed, cancelled, or resolved through the dispute process. The system will block deletion and show you the list of items that need to close first.

If you cannot sign in (lost password, lost phone access, locked account, or any other reason), email us at privacy@kaasb.com with the subject line "Account deletion request" and include:

• The email address registered on your Kaasb account.
• Your username (if you remember it).
• Confirmation that you understand deletion is permanent.

We may ask one identity-verification question (last QiCard or Zain Cash transaction amount, or a service you ordered) before processing — this protects against malicious deletion requests. We respond within 30 days with confirmation that the account has been deleted.

The following identifying personal data is permanently erased or anonymized:

• Your email address, username, phone number
• First name, last name, display name, bio
• Profile photo / avatar
• Country and self-declared city
• Hashed password and all active sessions (you are logged out everywhere)
• Two-factor authentication secret (if enabled)
• Content of messages you sent (replaced with a deletion marker)
• Any uploaded files in chat that you originally shared
• Saved searches, quick-reply templates, email-notification preferences
• Favorites and browsing history

Some records are retained for legal, financial, and other-user-protection reasons. They are de-linked from your identity — anyone reading them after deletion cannot tell they refer to you specifically.

• Financial transactions (orders paid, escrow movements, refunds, payouts) — retained for 10 years per Iraqi commercial-record law and tax compliance. The transaction row remains; identifying fields on it are anonymized.
• Reviews you wrote about other users — retained on the recipient's profile because they are part of that other user's reputation. Your name is replaced with "Deleted user". The rating + comment text remain.
• Reviews other users wrote about you — anonymized on your end (your profile no longer exists publicly), but the rating may continue to count toward aggregate platform statistics.
• Dispute records and admin audit logs — retained where required to document past administrative decisions, with personal identifiers redacted.
• Aggregated, anonymous statistics (e.g. "X services delivered in Q4 2026") — your prior contribution remains in the totals because it is no longer attributable to you.

This retention is consistent with Iraqi Civil Code, Iraqi commercial-record requirements, and the general data-protection principle of "legitimate interests" (protection of other users' reputation rights and the platform's ability to demonstrate past compliance).

• Method A (in-app): immediate — the system processes the deletion in real time.
• Method B (email): within 30 days of receiving sufficient identity verification.
• Backup retention: our nightly database backups may include a snapshot of your data for up to 30 days after deletion. These backups are encrypted, access-controlled, and never used for new processing — only for disaster recovery. After 30 days the backup snapshots are rotated out and the data is gone from backups too.

Before deleting, you may download a complete JSON copy of all personal data Kaasb holds about you (Data Subject Access Request). Sign in, then go to Dashboard → Settings → Export My Data. The download is generated on demand and includes profile, posted projects, proposals, contracts, messages, reviews, and transactions. Keep this file safely as deletion is irreversible.
